Long story short, I’m from Rogers Park, a community on the north side of Chicago, and I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember. Video game art, picture books, and cartoons were my earliest sources of inspiration with anime and film joining the group in my teenage years. I would say that my trajectory to where I am today stylistically started with the Boondocks comic strip, Cowboy Bebop, a little Tenchi Muyo, and learning to “draw from life”. More recently inspiration has been supplied in abundance by peers and Art Gods I’ve engaged with and discovered through social media.

My main goal as an artist is to create worlds and tell stories for people that like what I like. My characters and the stories I tell will always reflect what I want to see or wanted to see more of as a kid: black characters in abundance in a variety of roles, genres and worlds. The medium these worlds and characters will be introduced through is comics.

Essentially, I’m just a self-taught artist constantly growing and learning new things, so join me on this journey of equal parts discovery and nonsense.
